Sumerian History

The Sumerians were one of the world's earliest civilizations, emerging around 3100 BCE in Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq). They are known for developing cuneiform writing, one of the first written scripts, and building city-states like Ur, Uruk, and Lagash. Sumerians made significant advances in agriculture, mathematics, and law, laying the foundation for future civilizations. Their mythology, particularly the Epic of Gilgamesh, is one of the oldest literary works in history.
